Lussebullar - Lucia Celebration Saffron Buns
Scandinavians celebrate St. Lucia’s Day on 13th of December. Processions of children in white robes tied with red sashes walk through town holding candles.
In Sweden and Norway, saffron buns (Lussebullar, Lusseboller or Lussekatter), special sweet yeast buns flavoured with saffron and studded with currants or raisins are traditionally eaten on this day.
